Dutchess Pride Announces Move to the Town of Poughkeepsie
Hopewell Junction, NY - Dutchess County Pride Center (Dutchess Pride) today announces its move to 766 Main Street right on the border between the City and Town of Poughkeepsie. This highly visible location, already served by several major Dutchess County transit lines, will enable Dutchess Pride to reach more county residents in need, expand on its current community and social offerings, and become a true queer community space.
Beginning April 1st, 2024, this new location will feature a large community room for folks of all backgrounds to gather, talk, do homework, play games, and more. It will also feature a private meeting room available for use, a new location for the Trans Closet of the Hudson Valley, art on display by local queer artists, and a welcoming atmosphere for any member of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies.

Every year since, the Poughkeepsie Pride Parade & Festival, held on the Second Saturday in June, has been a cornerstone community celebration, averaging 5,000 marchers. It is proud to offer the following monthly: Out & Proud Around Town: a monthly meetup for queer folks, biweekly Teen Drop-Ins, and monthly groups for teens, tweens, and trans youth. Dutchess Pride also has done queer baking classes, summer camps, Adult & Youth Proms, holiday celebrations, and more!
