Vassar Brothers Medical Center is proud to announce the return of its annual Community Health Day on Saturday, September 28, from 10 am to 3 pm at the Family Partnership Center Gymnasium, located at 29 North Hamilton Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Free parking is available in the lot across the street.

“Community Health Day is more than just an event; it’s a lifeline for individuals and families facing significant barriers to healthcare. Our dedicated staff is committed to stepping up and providing crucial services to those who need them most,” said Brenda Ayers, MD,  Nuvance Health’s Medical Director for Health Equity.

This year’s event will once again focus on supporting the uninsured, underinsured, and those experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. In addition to essential health screenings, the event will offer winter clothing, school supplies, personal care items, and more. Please note that the health screenings are for adults only.

A range of screenings, services, and resources will be available, including:

  • Time with a medical provider

  • Nutritional support

  • Stroke prevention

  • Smoking cessation

  • Flu shots and other vaccines offered by Sun River Health

  • Prayer partners

  • Haircuts

  • Community group connections

Participants who complete a screening will receive a winter coat, socks, and a care kit, ensuring they are prepared for the colder months ahead.

Mark your calendars for this impactful event that brings health, hope, and support directly to our community. We look forward to seeing you there as we work together to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
